    It was Wednesday morning at work and I read something on the JHB Sumo WhatsApp group about the Moto SA Supermoto races. So after a bit of witch hunting, I got the race info mailed to me and shortly after, I was going through the regulations. I was tempted. Remembering that Kyle from the group raced the previous year, I messaged him. He sent a message saying that entries close that day and I hadn’t even decided whether I was actually going to race but instantly started stressing about not having a club membership or MSA licence, catch bottles or sliders for my bike so I panicked...

So it started last year, 2015, in the month of September, I'd been searching for a bike and after a lot of research and advice from my cousin, Justin, I decided to go with the KTM Duke 390. That same week my cousin got me added to this group of guys that ride supermoto's, JHB Supermoto. I'd watched their videos on YouTube for months and I seriously thought he was pulling my leg but it happened, I was in.  Now not knowing who these clowns were, are, I decided to go with it...... I met the JHB sumo boys about 2 years ago. I heard about them from a friend. I’d just crashed my brand new bike just 2 weeks after buying it and there was a ride coming up. So i decided to facebook message the JSM guys and see if I can get advice on a quick fix as I was too broke to replace my ignition cover. To my surprise, I got a reply with step by step instructions on how to seal a cracked ignition cover with pratley putty and a beer cap. I laughed at first but then thought, “what the hell, I’m broke anyways so let me try it”.  Hey, it worked. Saturday morning came and off we went....
